Internet Traffic

The Internet Traffic Report monitors the flow of data around the world. It then displays a value between zero and 100. Higher values indicate faster and more reliable connections. Someone at work asked why the internet was slow.

MacMerc is overloaded from other sites linking to it. The site shows you how to peek under the cap of a pepsi bottle to see the word “again” and know if you hold a winning iTunes cap worth a free song!

fund expenses

So I was confused about the expense ratio for my employeer 401k and did a little research. It turns out that there is at most a 1.3% added expense to any fund I buy.

That takes a 10,000 dollar investment in an S&P Index fund held for ten years with a historic return of 11% and a normal fee of .06% down 13% ($26,735.83 vs. $23,437.96)

That same 10,000 dollar investment held for 20 years is down 24% with the VAC ($54,933.81 vs. $71,480.45)

This seems to defeat any tax savings in the inital year. And the US government gets the money instead of some insurance company.

And this is best case scenario since the S&P Fund has the lowest expense ratio!

A great calculator here at the SEC

My friend said he actually saw this commercial on TV. I wonder what my brother who likes to crique commercials will say. It does not make me want a sandwich. Does someone at an ad agency think that crazy flash animations should be on television now?

Sorry Sir we have never heard of your problem

So my Tivo lost its Favorite Channel list. There is a post on TivoCommunity with 25 pages of people having the same problem. I called DirecTV this morning to complain about it. I love that the CSR who answered the phone told me: I am sorry sir, I have not heard of such a problem.

Yes, I still love the Tivo.

I kinda want to get rid of my subaru now that they are reclassifing the outback a light truck. I could replace it with a shiny new Toyota Prius.

I think a Caution Yellow computer is bad ass. Kristin thinks it’s too much money.
